Spring Watercolors

I've been having fun with this app on my iphone for a while now and posting to Instagram. This app is called Waterlogue. So I thought I'd share some of my photos and watercolor from my photos here. I used to wish I could paint watercolors... Now I can!

First up: The Roses my Hubby brought home for Valentines Day.
A beautiful mixture of pink and lavender.

How about some pretty pink peach blossoms?

Or some apple blossoms?

More Apple Blossoms cause I love them

How about a random photo of a flower I took at Home Depot with my iPhone

Or the Prickly Pear cactus in bloom:

Another Cactus bloom:

Or my Ice Plant blooming:

Or the first rose of the year. "Disneyland"

This app is very addicting!

Mosaic Monday Cactus blooms in Arizona

The Prickly Pear Cactus are still blooming. Some are orange some yellow, and these are my neighbors show stopping  hot pink. Soon the pretty purple pears will form and develop and will be ready to pick and eat or made into candy or syrup in July-August.

I'll be posting a recipe for Prickly pear Lemonade soon.
I'll link it here.

Mosaic Monday Citrus Blossoms

Arizona Citrus Blossoms

"Lemon Tree"
By Will Holt
Made popular by: Peter Paul and Mary

When I was just a lad of ten, my father said to me,
"Come here and take a lesson from the lovely lemon tree."
"Don't put your faith in love, my boy," my father said to me,
"I fear you'll find that love is like the lovely lemon tree."
Chorus:
Lemon tree, very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet,
But the fruit of the lemon is impossible to eat.
Lemon tree, very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet,
But the fruit of the lemon is impossible to eat.

One day beneath the lemon tree, my love and I did lie,
A girl so sweet that when she smiled, the stars rose in the sky.
We passed that summer lost in love, beneath the lemon tree,
The music of her laughter hid my father's words from me.
Chorus:
Lemon tree, very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet,
But the fruit of the lemon is impossible to eat.
Lemon tree, very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet,
But the fruit of the lemon is impossible to eat.

One day she left without a word, she took away the sun.
And in the dark she left behind, I knew what she had done.
She left me for another, it's a common tale but true,
A sadder man, but wiser now, I sing these words to you.

Lemon tree, very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet,
But the fruit of the lemon is impossible to eat.
Lemon tree, very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet,
But the fruit of the lemon is impossible to eat.

Mosaic Monday At The Zoo

Someone told me its all happening at the Zoo...

The Phoenix Zoo

Mmmmm. Mmmmm. Whoooa. Mmmmm.

It's a light and tumble journey

From the East Side to the park;

Just a fine and fancy ramble

To the zoo.
But you can take the crosstown bus
If it's raining or it's cold,
And the animals will love it
If you do.
If you do.
Something tells me
It's all happening at the zoo.
I do believe it,
I do believe it's true.

Mmmmm. Mmmmm. Whoooa. Mmmmm.

The monkeys stand for honesty,

Giraffes are insincere,
And the elephants are kindly but
They're dumb.
Orangutans are skeptical
Of changes in their cages,
And the zookeeper is very fond of rum.
Zebras are reactionaries,
Antelopes are missionaries,
Pigeons plot in secrecy,
And hamsters turn on frequently.
What a gas! You gotta come and see
At the zoo.
At the zoo.
At the zoo.
At the zoo.
At the zoo.
At the zoo.
At the zoo.
At the zoo.
