The baby Shower Event!

My Daughter Kelly's Baby Shower
January 18th, 2008

I was exhausted! I started at 7:00am and didn't stop till 7:30pm! I didn't even sit down till 7:00pm. I went from some really darling heels... so my most comfortable flats to my slippers!

Anyway... it was a huge success. Everyone loved the Momma Bird Baby Bird theme. The food was delicious, it was all gone. And having it at the club house was a mixed blessing... 45 people showed up... that would have been a lot of people at my home. However the loading and unloading and loading and unloading again just trashed me! There was a lot of love in that room.

Here are the pictures!

A true Interior Designer, on the ladder in heels!

I'm always telling my Daughter she looks good in hats.

That whole day went by and its a blur... I had fun tho and everything was beautiful and kelly couldn't thank me enough for giving her a wonderful baby shower.

Baby Shower Event is Sunday Brunch!

I'm poised and ready for tomorrow...

Agenda:
Make BBQ Chex Mix today for the cute little Damask boxes I got for the tables... Pick up the Cupcakes today... Everything is packed in boxes and sitting by my front door, except the food. I will have hubby load up the glider and the decorations tonight. They are going to let me get into the club house tomorrow after 7:00am so I am going to get in there around 8:00 and start to set everything up. Then come home and make the sandwiches and warm up the quiche and egg rolls and take a shower and get ready!

Here is what I found for the cupcakes: Its Cardboard, Martha Stewart put together, I will just have to keep replenishing them since this cupcake stand only holds about 20.
No problem... its so cute!
(I added the bows and birds!)

A very good friend of ours, Tammy, painted the bird houses for the tables... I just told her the theme and colors and she went with it!
Momma Bird baby bird, Teal and Brown...
They are so adorable!

Baby shower update!

Baby shower Update...

Wow have I been busy... I only have time for a short update this morning because I have to run to Hobby Lobby again to pick up the "Fabulous Prize" for the diaper raffle! Its 50% off this week and I want to get there and grab it before its gone! Yikes!

I also made another diaper cake for one of my daughter friends for her shower.

This week end I helped my daughter with the nursery. Her talented hubby built closet organizers, painted, and put it chair molding. Ok we just painted. But after he puts the crib together we have LOTS of stuff to do. My also talented daughter in a Interior Designer and she designed the room to look like a Fire Station (the new dad is a firefighter) Its sooooooo cute! I will post pix when its done, but for now here is the closet we painted. It used to be an empty hole with a rod and doors.

Baby Shower Update!

I found these adorable little prizes for the games at the baby shower... They even match our  damask decor! No, don't ask me how I did that... It was pure luck!

I finished the diaper cake, here it is...

And yesterday is rained all day and I sat at the table and made the 5 table arrangements and talked on the phone... (family dramaz). I got a lot accomplished though. Here are the arrangements:

My only stumbling block now is how to use the pretty lanterns with out putting holes in the Club House ceiling or walls. I was able to find 2 chocolate brown ones too and I have two more teal ones. So that is 9 lantern in all. Any ideas my talented friends?

Baby Shower update...

I finished the diaper cake... well I have some tweaking to do on it cause its not where I want it to be yet... but here it is so far. You get the idea.

Today I am working on the centerpieces. I am doing the flower arrangment and a friend of my daughters is painting the wood bird houses. I told her the colors we are using and told her to "have at it". She is really crafty and I trust her with this little project... "Little"? Its painting 5 birdhouses! I painted the one on top of the diaper cake... I bought it at Hobby Lobby 50% off and repainted it the colors I wanted.

I'll post pix of the arrangements and the ideas my crafty blogger friends came up with. And I promise to post pix of the shower itself.
Thanks my friends!
