After dinner walk

It's been really hot here so most people wait till the sun goes down
to walk the strip. Living in Arizona I know a body has to be really
hydrated to walk a Las Vegas city block in the daylight! Although it
wasn't in the low 110's today. It was still hot at 106. So I cruised
the casinos that are almost cold.

Hubby had meetings all day. So when he got back we headed for the tram
and over to Mandalay Bay for dinner at the buffet.
I just had to have the all you can eat crab legs! Sooooo good! Then we
walked the strip.

Finally

It's not too hot now that the sun has gone down! It's still in the
100's tho!
Had a fantastic sushi and saki dinner! Now walking off the Ginger
creme brûlée I had after dinner.

WOW ok one more.

See?

It's not the saki. It really does change, like a kelidoscope!

Beautiful sushi

The wall keeps changing color!

Dinner

Sushi and saki with the boyz!

Went for a short walk

It's just too hot for even a little walk. Went to the Paris hotel to
get a photo for Mady of the "awful" (Eiffel) tower and that was as far
as I could go today. Came back to the room for some AC and a little
nap. I stayed up last last night.

This is for you Mady!

Not my 1st choice.

Please excuse any typos as this post is being sent from my phone and
sometimes I miss them...
We are staying the MGM this trip cause hubbys company is paying for
it. He has meetings all week and I tagged along to see what kind of
trouble I can get into! This really isn't a great hotel but you can't
beat the free stay. Yesterday after. 5 and a half hour drive we
checked into our room and it was terrible! Tiny, dingy and the walk to
get there was insane! So hubby got us in another more comfortatable
room. It's super hot today. 110 in the shade. So I hanging out in the
casinos today.

I will post More later. Stay tuned!

We are here! Heading to MGM to check in! Then change clothes and head

Still on the road.

Just drove over the Colorado River in Laughlin. We are now in Nevada.
Another hour and a half.

Viva Las Vegas!

Ok we are driving to Las Vegas right now. I am using my phone to

Instead of flying we are driving again.
We had such a good time driving last time and then we can
use our own car while there for a week.
I am going to be sending mobile posts from my iphone all week,
so its kind of like you are going to Vegas with me!
Ok, not really, but I will share the adventure with you this week!

Keep watching all week.

Foodie Friday Hosted by the lovely Miss "G"

Designs by Gollum

This week my beautiful Granddaughter Mady has been intrigued with
The Eiffel Tower...
However, for some reason she thinks its called the "awful" tower!
It totally cracks me up!
So this week for Foodie Friday we made Eiffel tower cookies
from a recipe I got from this Cook Book for Kids
{Click on any photo to enlarge}

We started with some simple ingredients:
Sugar wafer cookies and frosting (next time I will make homemade frosting, this store bought was too soft and we kept having to rebuild our Eiffel towers... TIMBER!
But even that was fun... we laughed and laughed!

Such concentration!

It takes a steady hand...

Looking yummy!

They are starting to look like the leaning Towers of Piza!

Lets make some French Flags for the top!

Mady!
Are you eating the paste?

Oh wait, our paste is frosting...

Our Dessert last night!
Our "Awful" towers weren't so awful after all!

We served our left over strawberry wafer sugar cookies too.

kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

How about Hooked on Friday?
We are Hooked on the Eiffel Tower this week!
Check out what other people are hooked on this week at

We did some research on the internet and these are
our favorite photos of the "Awful" I mean Eiffel tower.

This one below is actually the replica 1/3 size in Las Vegas at the Paris Hotel.

This one is called Model on the Eiffel Tower!
Mady loves this photo!
She loves vintage!

This week my Daughter Kelly and I hosted my "daughter in love's" baby shower.
We all had a wonderful time.
Here is the present table with the diaper cake I made her...

Here is the food table.
Its actually the Island in my kitchen wearing a skirt :)

Here are some random shots of the party and decor.
My Daughter put this cute little cloths line up.
I thought it looked so cute with the blue of the
little boy clothes and my buttery yellow walls.

Here is the Diaper Cake I made her...
We are all huge Disney Fans, so this cake got a touch of Vintage Mickey and so did the baby blue boy clothes hanging on the cloths line.

Costco Cupcakes and we added some decorations.

Afternoon Mimosas with a cherry in the bottom

How cute is this Preggers wire dress form?
(update: I got the dress form online here)

Thank you for coming Favors

Outdoor Wednesday 7/22/09

Another Outdoor Wednesday...
To see even more of what is going on outdoors visit
(Click on any photo to enlarge)

This Outdoor Wednesday we are in Italy on the Isle of Capri!

Driving up the hill to get to a shopping tour and lunch.
Yikes those bus drivers are good!
Those are narrow streets and some jutted off the cliff.

Hubby had just talked me into going up this chair lift.
The people running it said your feet only are off the ground 10 feet at the most...
Yeah, ok then... I'll try it. Yikes!

Going up and up and up...
Over peoples private backyards!

As high up as we are...
technically me feet are still only about 10 feet off the ground.

My bravery was rewarded with a spectacular view!

At the top we got off to walk around.
The view from up there was priceless!
I found this fabulous old cracked pot.

Going back down wasn't too bad...
until the wind picked up!

It really was a fantastic little ride!
